How Album Scanning Works

We'll help you digitize your photo albums in an easy to follow process.

1 .

Select the number of albums and estimate the number of images

Select the albums of photos you want to digitize, and we price the order by the number of images. You don’t have to be precise, as we can help you adjust the total price after an order is placed.

2 .

Send us your albums

Pack your albums and ship it to us. You can add a pre-paid shipping label when you create an order and drop it off at any UPS drop-off location.

3 .

We carefully process and handle your order

Your memories matter, and we ensure that they’re carefully handled as we scan and preserve your family history. Using first-in-class technology and meticulous attention to detail, we not only share your precious photos back but enhance them as well.

4 .

Voila! Your memories are returned and safe

We will send your albums back, exactly as they were sent to us, alongside your preferred output if you ordered a USB or DVD. If you choose a digital copy, you can view and download your digitized memories with your included MemoryCloud account for 60 days. We also auto-upload your photos in your Google Photos library!

Frequently Asked Questions

What does touchless album scanning mean?

It literally means we are not touching the photos in your album. Our patented technology of digitizing images straight from the album pages creates a touchless process where no handling of the individual photos is involved. We will need to touch your album to position it in our scanner, but will not touch your photos.

What size albums do you accept?

We accept albums up to 14” x 14” and can extract photos of any size within the album.

How much does it cost to digitize the images in my album?

We only charge you for the successfully scanned photos. If a photo doesn’t get scanned, it won’t cost you anything. The cost per scanned image from your album is $0.35 each. Most albums have 100 to 200 photos, which would cost $35 to $70.

Can you digitize documents within my album?

Yes, we can digitize documents within the album as long as the dimensions of the document (unfolded) do not exceed that of the album. If the document is folded or is not attached to the album, we may need to touch the document to position it for scanning. We would treat the document with care.

How do you scan a photo album?

Capture uses a patented technology to digitize images straight off the pages of your album. This creates a touchless process and removal of the photos from the album is not necessary.

Will album scanning damage my photos?

No, it won’t! Our patented technology of digitizing images straight from the album pages so no handling of the individual photos is involved. This, in turn, eliminates any chance of damage to your photos through the album scanning process.

How long does album scanning take?

You will receive your completed order in about 4 weeks (includes processing and return shipping) from the time we receive your album; it will include your originals and any Digital Copy, USB, or DVD you ordered.

Will my original items be returned?

Yes! Your original media and containers will be returned with your completed order.

What will I receive?

You will receive your original album(s), a digital copy of each media in a downloadable format, plus any additional devices you ordered, such as a USB thumb drive and DVDs.
